Speaker(s): Janet Mardbinda and Tamia Manmurulu|Contents: Janet and Tamia have a conversation about Kurnpi 'green plum' and its use in plant medicine but also covering other topics. Mostly only Janet is audible. It is a good record of Janet's Mawng and Mawng/English mixing at that time. Observations: Janet referred to Kurnpi, as Masculine gender throughout, whether it was fruit, leaf, branch or tree. She used βNgartu!β as an emotive interjection, when Tamia said she was hot from standing in the sun. Janet spoke as much Mawng as she could, a mixture of Mawng and English, whereas Tamia clearly made a (inaudible) statement early on that she wanted to speak English, continuing her argument that she is more comfortable being recorded in English. Towards the end of the video they talk about their family connections to different places, e.g. Katherine (Janet), Alice Springs (Tamia) and Tamia talks a bit about Bush Tucker in Alice Springs.| Recorded by: Janet Mardbinda and Ruth Singer| Location: Warruwi, South Goulburn Island
