Description

An explanation of the Wihu song sung at the Blessing post (Taucwezkham jongc) explained as follows: "Wihu is the lord who blesses, he comes by the cloud, he was perching with Kira bird, he says to the people to prepare things for the festival. The welcome song is sung as they prepare the red-flower and the leaf. The singer predicts the fortune of the household and blesses them. He would also heals if any one of them is sick. In 90-91 It was decided that the household prayer to replace as a public event."

Description

About the origin of the Wihu tradition, as explained by Khapaw Tibaw; It was due the bad harvest that the villager came to realize to pray to a higher being for a better harvest and started to celebrate once a year with meat and rice beer, as the participants got drunk, some kind of spirit possessed them and spoke to the people. That's how it was celebrated at the end of the harvest and the beginning of new planting process

Wihu traveled from the end of the world, from the oceans where it practiced its power, at Talak Taman river it stopped and entered into the village.
