Description

Coconut site: Dorothy Pimab (Billy Tewa Wartovo's wife) describes a freshly planted coconut tree, planted this year. She came to Dimsisi to get married in 2012. Her father is Jimmy Nébni's classmate and also Billy's, at Daur High School. She speaks Agob as her first language and is learning Idi since coming to Dimsisi. Her interview is given first in Agob and then - more haltingly - in Idi. GPS location of coconut tree: 8 27842 S, 142 12987 E. This is a short interview made by Nicholas Evans in Dimsisi. This is a statement about a coconut tree, by the person who planted it. Where possible, versions are given in two languages (Nen and Idi, or Agob and Idi) by the person concerned. The relevant primary notes are in NS2014a:23-27 37.972.
