Description

Coconut site: In yard of elementary school. The GPS reading is taken on one of a group of four coconuts which G̅anio planted together in the school yard (photo illustrates all four). Fasawr only switched her sound recorder on halfway through, so need to use Tano's whole version. Poor interviewing by Fasawr. First in Nmbu, then in Nen. Short supplementary recording by Nick Evans adds information about how she chopped down some old copra coconut trees which old people had planted but which the village does not use, to plant coconuts for local consumption instead. GPS location of coconut tree: 8 63084 S, 142 05098 E. Interviewer: Fasawr. Video recordist: Michael, further recording by Tano. This is a short interview made by the Kiembtuwirer subcommittee of the Nen language committee, under Nick Evans' supervision. The Kiembtuwirer subcommittee comprises Warapa Wlila, Sarao, Rusien Aniba, and Fasawar. Jimmy Nébni was also present. This is a specific interview about coconut tree. People present: Fasawr, Rusien, Jimmy Nébni, Michael Binzawa, Warapa. Because Eri Kashima and some member of the Nmbu language committee were visiting, as well as four speakers of Nambo, the opportunity was taken to record extra material on these language, deviating from the regular schedule. Audio files: LSNG14-CR62-01.wav: G̅anio A CR62 hm. LSNG14-CR62-02.wav: G̅anio CR62. LSNG14-CR62-03.wav: G̅anio CR62 z4. LSNG14-CR62-04.wav: G̅anio B CR62.
