Description

Audio and video recordings of Marrangu performance at a significant site, recorded as part of a film making project which produced a film about the Marrangu spirit being Miwal and related topics - refer to item called 201512_Miwal_Master for the final edited film. The performance focuses on Miwal, a Marrangu spirit being and takes place at Miwal-djarri, where there is a rock that represents Djangkala, a spirit boy who travelled with Miwal searching for sugarbag. The item includes two audio files with annotation files as well as several video files that are compiled from two cameras and the separate audio. These include interviews with Marrangu owner Jimmy Djamanba, Judy Ramo and manager Johnny Malibirr. Marrangu man Ad Djulipirri appears in a file called 20151006-bongberre-full, talking about bungbirri (bongberre), the red-flowering kurrajong that is significant to the Miwal story. There is a recording made by Aung Si, file called MLC2-20151006_mewaldjare-01.MTS, this is raw footage.
