Description

Sisters Monica Malik Gim and Jenny Kusum Gim with sister-in-law Julie Manong Nabog sing a song about of the local river mouth in Matukar, dressed in traditional sago leaf skirts, shell jewelry and fragrant plants. In a separate video, they explain the different kinds of traditional decoration that they are wearing. Finally, Monica also tells the story of how her father wrote the song "Burar Awan". Funded by the Firebird Foundation for Anthropological Research.
