Minor annotations by Capell. This study was based on Biblical translations, the Book of Common Prayer and a set of Psalms in Gela, and reference is made to earlier work of Bishop Patterson and C. H. Brooke (Melanesian Mission) and research by R. H. Codrington (The Melanesian Language). Ivens did not conduct field work in this language.
