Description

2 page manuscript. -- Letter to Capell from George Bogese, referring to the Grammar discussed below. In addition to notes on pronunciation in the Bugotu language, he severely criticises earlier work by Ivens and Ray who made claims about spoken Bugotu without having heard it first hand. Note: Capell took the criticism seriously and highlighted it in his Linguistics Survey of the South-Western Pacific (SPC Tech Paper # 136) and recommended that the Bugotu Grammar be revisited.
