Description

58 page text. -- Languages of the Bougainville district. By Jerry Allen and Conrad Hurd. Summer Institute of Linguistics. Report on the results of the 1963 Bougainville language survey, of which completed survey sheets are filed under specific languages in the Capell papers. The report expands on the published and mission materials referred to in Capell's earlier studies for the South Pacific Commission. Contains a detailed language boundaries map. Multiple languages replaced by additional 13 identified languages of Bouganville per SIL materials. One language of Kuanua (ksd) was removed as it is not relevant and in different district (New Britain) which may have been confused with Kunua language in north east area. The map is redefined to Bouganville District boundaries now Autonomous Region of Bouganville (AROB) as a Province. Additional languages are updated in Subject Languages and Content Language is in English. (Steven Gagau, April 2018)
