Description

SIDE 1: Text in Kuanua, Coastal] Kiwai SIDE 2: Text in Motu Original disc held at the National Library of Australia (MS 9275, Album 2, Box 1) --- Summary of Kuanua text (first part of Side 1), provided by Steven Gagau (Kuanua speaker), June 2017: A boy is sitting on a woven mat and tells his younger brother to give him some food, as he was hungry. The younger brother replies that he did not bring food with him. They decided they should go to their mother as she gave them food the day before. So they went off to see their mother. On the way, they met another boy and told him they were going to see their mother as they both were hungry. The boy told them that they should not go yet and wait for the afternoon as his mother had told him. They then decided to climb the coconut tree and eat from it and get a dry coconut each to their mothers for cooking the food later in the evening.
