Description

A legend about the disappearance of the Casta Reef (Lip), said to be the origin place of the Titan people. A woman from Asin named Alup is given a bunch of twigs and seeds that has the power to part the sea, and she walks across the ocean to the Casta Reef. Here she meets the chief Toung Kulupwe, and she carries his child. When she is about to give birth, she discovers that the people of this place deliver their children by cutting them out of their mothers' bellies. She then teaches the people how to give birth. Her parents eventually come to get her, and take her and the child away in a canoe. When Toung Kulupwe sees this, he throws his lime gourd on the ground in anger. This causes the Casta Reef to submerge into the sea.

Description

A legend about Pwau, who climbed a bamboo stalk and visited the moon in a time of drought, to ask for rain. There are two types of rain: Nolo, the good rain, and Urap, the bad rain that floods everything. The moon tells Pwau to go down and dig watering holes, and he will send Nolo in five days. This is why there are watering holes everywhere on Baluan, and why the Ayap clan has power over the weather.

Description

A legend about how coconuts were introduced to Baluan. A father and son go out fishing, but a masalai (evil spirit) smells their fish and chases them. When they have fed all their fish to the masalai and are still being chased, the father tells his son to kill him and feed him to the masalai, but to take his head home with him. The son eventually does this and escapes with his life. He buries his father's head near the house. Later a coconut tree starts growing on the grave. If one looks at a coconut nowadays, it looks like a human head
