Description

This item contains 3 audio files from 23 Aug 2012. Various sound recordings made on Zoom Handy Recorder H4n to accompany videoed material (separate files). Some are in Nen, some in Idi, some in both LNSG11-Aug23MensStories-01 (Nen20120823-2) (idi20120823NEa-01) Geno, an old man from Dimisisi who is Mkao’s ‘exchange man’, tells his story, in Idi. In the second half, it shifts to interview mode, with Jimmy Nébni asking the questions. Interesting code shifting – Jimmy asks some parts in Idi, some in Nen, though Geno almost always answers just in Idi LNSG11-Aug23MensStories-02 (Nen20120823-3) (idi20120823NEa-02) Daeba Samoa, an old man from Werubi village, tells his story, in Idi. Near the end Dibod from Dimsisi adds some additional information, in Nen LNSG11-Aug23MensStories-03 (Nen20120823-4) (idi20120823NEa-03) Explanation about pig loop (liwa) – three men speak: Daeba, then Geno (both in Idi), then Dibod (in Nen)
