Description

This elicitation series was carried out on 27 Sept 2011 in Daru, due to the cancellation of a flight and the serendipitous presence of a Smerki speaker. Participant Kenedi Tonzi is from Wiyam village in Morehead district. Smerki is spoken in the border area. In this part of the session, Nick Evans and assistant are working with Kenedi Tonzi, eliciting ways of asking and answering the question 'who is here?', numbers, basic verbs (work, visit, see, look) and simple expressions. The corresponding video begins at 24:45 Session B, and goes until almost the end (sounds like power failure again).
