Description

Gutob villager Mukund Kirsani climbs a tree to retrieve his palm wine, which is fermenting in a gourd, high up in the tree. Each villager has rights to specific trees, and the wine is stored high above the ground. Palm wine is tapped twice to thrice a day and is allowed to ferment in gourds until sold or consumed. This takes place in Gangare ngom (Kangapada) village, p/o Lamtaput, p/s Machkund, District Koraput, pin 764081, Odisha State, India.
