Description

Translation (Seng Pan) The story is about how birds elected their King. A long time ago, birds didn't have their King. So, they did a discussion to elect the King. Since the Great hornbill was a big and beautiful bird, they planned to appoint him as their King. After they crowned the Great hornbill as their King, they let him lead a Manau (it is practised as Kachin traditional dance today). But when he spoke out, his sound was terrible. So, all other birds got scared when he started speaking. And they flew away. Therefore, the Manau he led was never successful. That's why the birds decided to dethrone the Great hornbill. And they crowned a greater racket-tailed drongo again and let him lead the Manau. He could lead the Manau dance with his pleasant voice. Therefore, he is still the King of all birds till today. The greater racket-tailed drongo doesn't need to find the food. He only has the food that the other birds get for him.
