Description

Translation (Htoi San) Now, I am telling a story about a faithful woman and man. A long time ago, there was a girl and a boy who were loyal to each other. Someone talked in front of that boy, "Your girlfriend is marrying a person from a very far place." "Why don't you get married and stay unmarried like now?" people mocked him. So that boy died due to his sorrows. Then they talked to the girl, "Your boyfriend is dead." "If you want, his grave is over there, and you can go and see it." But the girl did not plan to go and see it. Soon after that, people wooed her to get married. "The boy you loved had already died." People told her about this, and her parents wanted her to wed. So she agreed to marry even though she did not want to. While people carried her on the way, they passed the graveyard where her boyfriend was buried. When she reached her lover's grave, she said, "Let's stop for a while. I want to see for a while." She came down and went to see it; the grave broke in the middle and swallowed her. Later, a tea-leaf tree grew at the grave's bottom, and a poppy tree grew at the head of the grave. People took seeds from those trees and planted them, so they became plain green tea and heroin. These green tea-leaves and heroin came out from the couple's grave who loved each other until their death, so if we are addicted to green tea and opium, the feeling of addiction will not go away quickly. People who use drugs find it difficult to stop using them, and people who drink green tea leaves also find it difficult to stop drinking them. Until now, the addiction in each green tea and heroin is substantial because those trees came out from that girl and boy whose love could not be breakable.
