Description

Translation (Htoi San) Now, I am telling a story about when our humans did not have any music, and we did not have any performances in the ages past ago. One man took a journey at that time, and he heard a cicada chirping near a big river. The sound was coming out from the cicada, which was sticking on a big tree. At one time, it chirped a long voice like "Kaw Kaw," and it took a long time. Then it made the sound "Kaw Yei." So the man thought, "If we, people, can also make sounds like those sounds and sing nicely to each other, others will like them. It will help us to make our minds happier." Therefore, he went and listened to the cicada's chirping sounds every day. After that, he made the sounds which he heard from cicadas in front of his friends. In the end, music with melody and performances began.
