Description

Translation (Htoi Awng) A long time ago, there was a boy in a village. He learned drawing for three years. He could draw very well. After learning for few years, he came back to his home. Before he went back, his teacher told him, "My boy, you must bear patiently whatever people say to you. If you want to be successful, you must be patient." The boy usually sold his paintings at the market. He could sell many paintings. One day, he drew the objects from the king's palace and entered the king's palace. The guards asked him, "Why are you coming here?" He said, "I drew the objects from the king's palace. So, I am coming here to give these paintings to the king." The guards sneered at him and said, "Do you think the king will like your paintings? Take them back." Then, the boy took his paintings and returned home. The next day, he went to the market to sell his paintings. While the rich men from the other villages were coming to the market, they saw the boy's paintings and liked them so much. One rich man asked him, "How much is it? I will give you as much as you want. I'd like to buy your paintings." The rich man bought his paintings with a lot of money. The king heard that news and was interested in the boy. So, he told his guards to escort the boy to the palace. The boy drew royal objects from the palace for the king. The king liked them very much. Then, the king's guards were jealous of the boy. But he endured and stayed calm. In the end, the king let him stay at the palace and ordered him to draw lots of paintings. Because of his patience and endurance, he could stay at the palace happily.
