Description

Translation (Htoi Awng) This story is about a mouse and a lion. There was once a lion lying asleep in a forest. There were a lot of mice there too. They ran back and forth and accidentally tripped over the lion. Then, the lion woke up and roared. Most of the mice were in their haste and ran away. But a little mouse couldn't escape from the lion since he was slow. The lion angrily laid his paw on the little mouse. The poor mouse begged, "Spare me! I am not strong enough, so I couldn't escape from you. Don't eat me, please. I will repay you." The lion said, "Okay then! I will let you go if you surely repay me." Then, he released the mouse. The poor mouse returned to his friends and family. After a few days, the lion was caught in a trap set by men. He was unable to escape. He was helpless and depressed. At that time, the mouse saw him in the net. He remembered it was the lion that let him go in the past. Then, he quickly went there and gnawed at the ropes to set the lion free. This story is about benignity. We should repay someone who helps us or saves us. I just would like to point out that we should show kindness to each other and repay one's gratitude.
