Description

Translation (Seng Pan) Once upon a time, there was a hunter. When he went hunting, he always kept his words. If he decided to shoot the birds, his eyes were only on the birds. He didn't go back home till he got a bird. And he didn't hunt other animals although he couldn't find the birds. No matter how long it took or how many animals he saw, he just kept looking for what he decided to hunt earlier. If he chose to shoot the boar, he only chased after it. The hunter always kept his words throughout his life. One day, he went hunting in a forest. On that day, he decided to shoot a boar. However, he couldn't find any boars. After a while, he was tired and took a rest under a tree. He also felt thirsty. While he was sitting there, a man passed by. "My friend, what are you doing there?" the man asked him. "I'm tired and thirsty. If you find a stream on your way, please tell it that a hunter is thirsty and to come to me!" the hunter said. Then, the man was quite surprised at how a stream could move to him. He felt weird but he decided to tell the stream since the hunter asked him for help. So, he said yes to the hunter and continued his journey. When he found a stream, he said, "Stream. The hunter wants you to come to him." Then, the stream suddenly moved and walked to the hunter. And the hunter also drunk the water from the stream. "My friend. How could you do this? What power do you have?" the man asked the hunter. "I don't have any power. But I always keep my words. Therefore, it just happened," the hunter replied. "Please teach me!" the man said. "Of course. I can. Tomorrow morning, let's meet here at 8. Don't be late! I will wait for you here," the hunter replied. The man also agreed and went back home. The next morning, it rained heavily. The man remembered that he had to be there at 8. But he decided to go when it wasn't teeming. And he thought it wouldn't be a big deal. Even though it rained cats and dogs, the hunter went to the forest since he already promised the man to be there at 8. And he waited under the tree. However, the man got there only when the rain had gone. "I told you to be here at 8. Why are you so late?" the hunter asked. "It's raining heavily," the man replied. "Let me tell you. Even though there is heavy rain, you should keep your promise. Only then you will be able to do anything," the hunter said. Transcription (Lu Awng) Moi shawng e da la jaugawng langai mi nga ai da.
