Description

Translation (Gun Mai) Long long ago, there was a village. In the village, there was a mouse king who had been living for several years in a house. Since the house that the mouse king was living in was old, the owner of the house that the mouse king was living in demolished the house and built a new house at the place where one stream gap in the village. They finished house construction and on the evening that they have done the new house party, a daughter of the house owner went to get water. On the way of the boy, a lot of mice together carried the old mouse king because the old mouse was blind. They supported together him and brought him to the new house. When they were carrying the old mouse king, because there was a stream, they were taking rest. At that time, the daughter of the new house owner who went to get water saw about the mice were carrying the old blind mouse. She returned home and told her parents and grandparents. When she told, the house owner, her parents, and her grandparents were also amazed to hear. "Daughter, take a wood plate and go to the stream and put the wood plate on the stream to make it bridge for the mice," they said to the daughter. So, the girl took a wood plate and went to the stream. Then, she put on the stream. At that time, the mice carried the old mouse king and crossed the bridge. Then, they brought the old mouse king to the new house. When the old mouse king got the new house, he also felt very happy and he kissed all the mice who were surrounding his left and right, and he entered under the house. The house owner saw that the mouse king was entering into the house. "Umm....even though they are just mice, animals, they are such united," the parents and the grandparents said and thought. "Nowadays, we humans used to say to the senior people not to go to the parties because they could not see well and could not walk well. But, today, even the mice brought their blind old mouse king to the new house. We should follow the unity of the animals. We should apply like them," the grandparents said their son and grandchild. After the grandparents said so, from the following year, the sons and the daughters also used to bring their old people and grandparents to the parties. The parents, the grandparents and the grandchildren, the whole family also united and used to go together wherever such as parties. They took care of each other. From that day, the family of the house was also very united and the family had been growing and also wealthier. I have heard about this story. Therefore, we humans also should take the example from the animals and if we help each other without discrimination, our families and our nationalities will grow more. I am telling this story as much as I remembered. Transcription (Lu Hkawng) Moi shawng de mare kahtawng langai mi nga ai da.
