Description

Translation (Htoi San) A long time ago, there was a prince in a palace. One day, he wandered around the forest. He did not know the place well. He lost his way as he was not familiar with the forest. Thus he sat and cried beside the water. There was a big tree near the water. He sat under that giant tree and thought, "How am I supposed to go back?" "Which way should I go back?" he thought so hard as it was getting dark. Moreover, he was so thirsty and hungry to eat rice. He looked in the water for fish and got an idea, "It would be better fishing." Then he fished in that water. He caught a little fish. That little fish said to him, "Please don't kill me. I will show you the way back." "If you go back this way, you will reach your palace." After the fish showed him the way, the prince went home. When he reached his palace, he said, "Such a wonderful fish that is, and I had better bring it to the palace. After that, place it in the water, which would be the best." He told his father this, and the king agreed with him, "That fish knows a lot. Bring it to us." So the prince returned to the water where he first found the little fish. When the son arrived at the water, he fished again to catch that brilliant fish. He caught the fish for the whole day but could not get anything. Thus he went again the following day. On that day, he noticed that fantastic fish. The fish told the prince, "I can only stay in this water. Therefore, come to this pond only if you need me in an emergency." And the fish continued, "I have my kingdom in this water, so I cannot go with you." The prince heard what the fish said and believed it, "Alright, can." The prince returned to the palace and told everything to his father. The fish could only stay where they belonged and not in any other places.
