Description

Translation (Htoi San) In a village, two houses were neighbors. Among the two houses, one house had only many men. The other house had only more women. The houses were next to each other. The women from one house worked very hard. They had no time to rest, and their home was clean and tidy. They also planted flowers and all kinds of vegetables. Therefore, they all could live happily and warmly in their busy house. The men who were neighbors from the women's house were indolent. They sang songs and slept every day. They were singing, talking, and making a lot of noise all the time. The women worked very hard, and they prepared the farm to plant the paddy beside their house. The ladies could not carry a big wood log and could not push it down while they cleared the field and pulled grass to plant the rice plants. The girls could not push down that big tree by themselves, so they called the boys to help. The girls said, "Please help us with this." But the boys did not give a hand. The girls did not know what to do as the boys did not help them. So they tried to push a little and move it, then plant the paddy. After that, they could have rice. When they got rice full of baskets and cooked and ate deliciously, the lazy neighbors came and asked for the rice as they had nothing to eat. The girls said, "You did not help us when we faced difficulties. When we needed to push down the big wood log and asked for your help, you did not help out. So we don't give rice to you." Then the girls shut the door. Therefore, the neighbor boys were so lazy that they were hungry and had to live hard.
