Description

Translation (Htoi Awng) I am going to tell you about how Hpaulum Htu or Hpu Lum Htu (a kind of Nat spirit which has longer breasts) became. Once upon a time, there were three close friends in a village. One day, they went into the forest to collect some woods. They said to each other, "When we go into the forest, let's walk together. Even if we are apart, show signs on the way to be able to notice each other." When they were in the forest, one woman was apart from her other two friends. She just focused on searching firewood without noticing that she reached really far from her friends. After collecting some woods for a while, they prepared to go back home. Two women were waiting for their friend. It was getting dark, but their friend didn't show up. So, they two just went back to the village without their friend. The woman who lost her way in the forest put some short firewood on the way as a sign to let her friends know where she was. But her friends couldn't find her. In the end, she became Hpulum Htu (a Nat spirit). In the forest, there grow some short trees. They are the places where Hpulum Htu put the woods to see her.
