Description

Translation (Rita Seng Mai) This story is about a horse and a lion. Once upon a time, there was an old lion in the forest. He was not strong as he was old. He couldn't catch and prowl a prey like before. Since he was old, the other animals which he was going to catch could run away from him quickly. Then it was difficult for him to get a prey. So, he planned to get a prey. Then, he spread a rumour. The rumour was, "I am the medico who came back here after studying medicine in foreign country. If you are hurt and have bruises or cuts, you can come to me to get treatment. I can cure you completely." After spreading the rumour, many animals came there to get treatment. Then the old lion thought that his plan was successful and he could eat the animals. And he was so happy. Then, there was a horse which wanted to test the lion and wanted to know what the lion's thought was. So, he let one of his friends kick him. Then one of his feet was injured. And he went to the lion to receive treatment. When the horse came to the lion, the lion was happy with the thought of getting a meal. The lion thought to himself, "I have a meal now." And then, he asked the horse, "What happened? Where are you hurt exactly?" The horse answered, "My leg is hurt." Then the lion said, "Okay. Let me see. Let me see your leg." The horse spread his legs. At that moment, the old lion tried to pounce on the horse with all his strength. Then, the horse quickly kicked the old lion down with all his strength. The lion got kicked and ran away quickly. Then, the horse felt happy because he could drive the old lion away successfully and knew what the real plan of the lion was. He laughed out loud "hahahhhh, hihihhhh." He was happy since he could teach a lesson to the old lion. Transcription (Lu Awng) Gumra hte hkanghkyi a lam da.
