Translation (Dau Hkawng) I also want to tell you about the story of the lightning strikes on the dragon. It must have been around 1820. There is a river called Namsan river that flows near Namsan village. There was a dragon living in a stream pool nearby Namsan river. Probably, the dragon was usually living inside that, a place covered with a large boulder. So, one day, a son of Ladai family who was the brother of Ladai Ningga, came drove and dragged buffalo from the side of Lailun. When he came back with his buffalo, he drew buffalo tails and swam across the river because Namsan river was flooded. On the night of that day, nobody didn't know what was going on, but a son of Ladai family was gone. "He even usually a crossed Namsan river with his buffalo, he has never been like that before, just happen tonight," said family each other. Then, they asked the spirit which they worshiped, as they were animistic at that time, the spirit replied that he had eaten by the dragon. So, they said nothing to the spirit. Then, that man, “I will go and kill that dragon myself” said the brother of a lost child and as he spoke, the sword bled to sharpen a sword. He believed in the thunder spirit, lightning will help him because he worshiped the thunder spirit. He was very sure to get help from the thunder spirit because he was the one possessed by the lightning spirit. And so, even though they sought upper and lower river, they couldn’t find the lost child. The brother of the lost child thought he would cut it by himself and when they asked the spirit, the spirit recounted that the child had eaten by the dragon. Therefore, the brother sought a white buffalo and killed it to make himself to be a priest of spirit. When night fell, became lightning strikes and a large boulder was broken into pieces which was the dragon hiding. And he also pulled the dragon out of the rocks and meanwhile, they found their lost child out of the stream pool beside the rocks. Even we didn't know if this happening was really or not. One of the family kept some pieces of dragon scales. Even though some of them made necklaces by the dragon scales and we don't know where the dragon scales now, because they passed it one by one. What a witness is, now a day we can see the broken large boulder there, and the local people called "Lunghkrung Jung" till today. In the end, the story of the lightning strikes on the dragon, formerly spirit and demons ruled over the people, could believe that the spirits and demons were let lightning strikes over the dragon with their power. Ndai baren hpe e mu e achye ai ngu ai lam gaw nat jat ai ten hta e mu hpe shangun dat yang baren e mu achye ya ai ngu ai lam hpe e sak se hkam mu lu ai hku re.
