Description

Translation (Seng Pan) Once upon a time, there was a fierce lion king in a forest. He made a huge monkey his servant by force. When the monkey didn't find the food he liked, he tortured him by biting, scratching and hitting. After many years, the monkey became old and couldn't tolerate his torments. So, he thought a plan to rebel the lion. One day, while the old monkey was looking for the food, he arrived at a big rock which was beside a creek. He went up on the rock and looked at the water. There he saw his reflection. The reflection which appeared on the water jumped when he jumped and smiled when he smiled. At that time, he had got an idea to trick his master, lion who had mistreated him for a long time. So, he placed a big stone on the rock, which was quite heavy, and he went back home without food. As soon as he arrived at his master, he said, "Today, I met the one who is crueler than us." "Where is he? I have to kill him. There shouldn't be another one. Let's go and kill him," the lion angrily replied. Therefore, the monkey took him to the rock. When they got there, the monkey said, "Your majesty, take a look at the water!" There the lion saw his reflection. When the lion jumped, his reflection also jumped. When he smiled, it also smiled back at him. As the lion thought it was another lion which was crueler than him, he jumped into the water to kill him. Even though he dived into the water, he couldn't find him. He was drowned and tired. So, he cried to help him in getting out of the water. At that time, the monkey threw the stone. And it dropped down on the lion, and it died. Therefore, if you are so proud of yourself or if you are arrogant and self-centered, those can hurt you back.
