Description

Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story I am going to tell is about humans and chickens. A long time ago, people believed that chickens were bad. So they killed them and fed the snakes. One day, a man came back from the forest after collecting some wood. On his way, he faced a giant snake. The snake hypnotized him and tried to eat him. He shouted, "Don't eat me! Don't!" Since it didn't understand human language, it just swallowed him. In its stomach, he didn't die yet. He saw a chicken. The chicken said, "You did many bad things. You torture animals! So the snake ate you!" Meanwhile, it was dark outside the snake's stomach. Another incident happened there too. There was another family who went to the forest to collect some wood too. When it was dark, they all went back home. When they arrived home, the parents said to their son, "It is going to get dark soon. Don't go outside now. Just stay at home." But the boy said, "Just for a moment, mom. I will be home very quickly." And he went outside to play. He didn't come back home although it was late. His parents were worried. In fact, he was eaten by the snake. So, he couldn't go back home. Transcription (La Ring) Ya ngai tsun na lam gaw u hte masha na lam re.
