Description

Translation (Htoi Awng) Now, I am going to tell you about the history of Lawmyen clan which lived near Sadung town, Kachin State. Long time ago, people who belonged to Lahpai clan were looking for the land. Lumyang Lahpai (clan) was just Lahpai (clan) in the past. They were finding some places to live. They came from China and built a village. Mading and Lahpai were the first clans who started finding the land. When they decided to divide the land, they saw a special extraordinary stone. So, chiefs from Lahpai clan decided to call the side where they found the stone as Lawmyen and the other side as Nawlang. They named the village as Lawmyen inspired by that special stone. And they called themselves as Lawmyen Lahpai. It's because of that special stone.
