Description

Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story I am going to tell you is about a grandma and Mawng Bya. Once upon a time, there was a grandmother and her grandson in a village. On their way to the farm, the grandmother told him, "My grandson, people told me that you are such a liar. However, don't lie to me." Her grandson, Mawng Bya, said, "I won't lie to you. Why should I? I am so busy watching the moon and the star's fight. I don't have time to lie to you." The grandmother asked him, "Where is the fight between the moon and the star?" She looked up at the sky and asked him, "Where?" Then the log basket she was carrying fell down. She wanted to see the fight, so she looked up at the sky. In fact, her grandson was lying to her. Soon, she picked up her basket and continued their way to the farm. On the way, they met a man. That man told Mawng Bya, "My friend, I heard that you are a good liar. Lie to me and make me believe. Let me hear your lie." He said, "Okay, but I forgot my bottle, which helps me tell a lie. I forgot to bring it with me." Mawng Bya was carrying a heavy log while he was talking to him. Mawng Bya said, "Let me go get my bottle at home. Carry this log while I am going home. I will be back soon. Just wait for me here." That man was carrying the log and thinking, "He is a good liar. Let's see what kind of bottle he is using! Let's see how he will lie to me." He was waiting for Mawng Bya there. However, Mawng Bya didn't come back, although it was already getting dark. Mawng Bya didn't come back, although it was already dark. Then he carried the log and went to Mawng Bya's house. He saw Mawng Bya having tea peacefully at home. The man thought, "Why is he acting like that?" Soon he realized, "Mawng Bya lied to me!" He finally accepted that Mawng Bya was really good at lying. This is the end.
