Description

Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story I'm going to tell now is about tiger and cat. Once upon a time, there were a tiger and a cat in a forest. The cat knew many methods to catch a prey very well. It knew how to catch its preys really well. But the tiger which was the carnivore didn't know how to catch a prey well. It didn't know the methods of prowling and catching a prey. One day, the tiger came to the cat to learn the methods of catching a prey since it didn't know well about that. It came to learn. And it told the cat, "Mr. Cat, teach me the skill of catching a prey and prowling. Teach me your method of catching a prey." As the cat felt pity for the tiger when the tiger came to learn, it taught the tiger how to catch. It taught every method of catching and prowling. While it was teaching the tiger, it thought, "Umm, I am small and the tiger is much bigger than me. Then one day, it will catch and eat me with the methods that I taught." So, the cat left one method of catching a prey without teaching the tiger. That method was that when it caught a prey, it had to raise its tail. The cat didn't teach that to the tiger. As for the tiger, it thought it knew every method, so it went back. It went back to its place and it found a prey on its way. When the tiger jumped down and was about to catch a prey, its tail touched the ground first and made sound since its tail was too long and big. So, the prey which it was going to catch had time to run. The preys ran away. The tiger was thinking about that, "Ummm, I have learnt all the methods from the cat. But why couldn't I catch any preys?" Later, it thought about that and it knew why. It learnt that it might be because of its tail. Since then, the cat was the animal which could catch fish, mice and other food very well by raising its tail up. But the tiger, which learnt that it could not catch any preys because of its tail, could catch and prowl a prey really well now.
