Description

Translation (Gun Mai) The title is about a widow and her son. Long long ago, there were a mother and her son. They lived in a village. In the past, in their villager, when they scooped fish, all the villagers went together and scooped fish together. The mother of the son was not beautiful so the boy did not love her and he did not call his mother in front of others. When the villagers went to scoop fish, the boy got fish but he just gave other beautiful women and other beautiful girls. The boy just gave others all the fish that he got. But, his pitiful mother just scooped fish in the side of the creek and she got small fish and shrimps. The mother took the small fish and shrimps and brought it home. In the evening when all the villagers returned home, the boy played flute and was wandering around the village to know whether we would invite him for dinner because he gave others a lot of fish. When he got in front of a house, he played the flute but no one invited him. Then, he got to another house and played flute again, no one also invited him again. But, finally, when he got home, his mother said that "Dear son, Mom just cooked the fish and shrimps that I got today. Come to mom and let's eat together." Then, the boy understood that although his mother did not beautiful, his mother was the one who loved him. Transcription (Lu Awng) Gabaw gaw gaida hkan nu na lam.
