Description

April River. Mbukambukey and Gahom. On upper Sepik of mainland New Guinea. "Gahom written in papers as a new Shangri La. Mpukambukey first village I came to on the April. Gahom was well above limit of canoe navigation. I found several Pidgin speaking people there who, of all things, had learned Pidgin working on a plantation in Manus"
