Description

The funeral speech ('petunjuk jalan') was recorded June 30, 1984 at the Pejam cemetery (also published in the 'Wordlists'. The name of the reciter is Dule, a Lom man then in his late 40s; he had not learned the speech by heart so he read it from a notebook. The speech is repeated three times (for three graves). Following that there is a long talk (of little interest) between myself, a friend and a fairly old informant -- this recording took place in the village Pugul, outside the Lom territory proper. Details: there are three retellings of the funeral story. -- Retelling 1: 0-113 on the counter, 6 min. 10 sec. -- Retelling 2: 114-181 on the counter, 4 min. 30 sec. -- Retelling 3: 182-239 on the counter, 4 min. 10 sec. --
