Celebrating King Billy’s Birthday referencing the great corroberree of 1836 in celebration of William IV’s birthday. The Kulin people who came into the new township for the event were presented with government blankets on behalf of an absent ruler who resided half way around the world but also as a false sense of benevolence on the part of the colonisers.
